Doom Eagle is an international criminal organization based in Southeast Asia. Led by the Assassin Nathan Zhang, it often worked alongside the Zhawang Corporation led by Nathan's sister Claire Zhang, handling the company's "dirty work".
History[]
Activities in Macau[]
In 2023, the Zhawang Corporation learned about Noa Kim, a Korean-American college student and descendant of the company's founder, Edward Kenway. Regarding Noa as a member of their "family", Nathan and Claire worked together to try and rescue him following Noa's abduction by Abstergo Industries, who sought to use Noa's genetic memories to find a Piece of Eden.[1]

During Noa's trip with the Templar Shimazu Sei to the A-Ma Cultural Village in Macau, Nathan dispatched several thugs to serve as a distraction while two of Claire's agents approached Noa. The thugs attacked Sei and killed her bodyguards, but before they could execute the Templar, they were defeated by Noa, who had declined the agents' offer to be rescued.[2]
Sometime later, Nathan and several of his gang members watched as the Exitus research vessel, which Noa was held aboard, left Macau. Suspecting the ship was heading to the Philippines, where his organization had a foothold, Nathan snatched away the phone of a Zhawang Corporation agent to speak with Claire and ask her to let him handle Noa's rescue. Claire was reluctant given Nathan's history of "blowing things out of proportion", but ultimately conceded.[1]
Ambush in Cebu[]
Following the Exitus to Cebu, Nathan had several of his men survey the Abstergo convoy containing Noa and Sei from a distance as to avoid detection. After the convoy left the Basilica del Santo Niño, the gang members decided to initiate their rescue operation and manipulated the traffic to force the convoy to travel through an alternate route. Once the convoy reached an empty street, Doom Eagle used a truck to block its path before gang members emerged from the surrounding buildings and opened fire on the Abstergo vehicles.[3]

The car containing Noa, Sei and the latter's bodyguard Yuki was able to escape through an alley, prompting several Doom Eagle thugs to give chase on motorcycles. However, one of the bikers was gunned down by Yuki, while another saw Noa inside the car and lowered his gun, not wishing to harm him.[4]
After the Abstergo car reached a shopping mall, Nathan crashed into it with a truck, causing the car to fly into a water fountain. He then emerged from the truck with his men and opened fire on the wrecked car. Upon seeing Noa and Sei run into the mall, Nathan and his thugs followed them inside and knocked out the security guards at the entrance. Nathan was then informed by one of his men that Abstergo reinforcements were on their way, meaning they had only a few minutes to find Noa and Sei.[4]
Nathan was amused by the idea of a "hide and seek game with a time limit" and ordered his men to search the mall for Noa. He also instructed them to use only non-lethal melee weapons as to avoid civilian casualties, and to kill Sei if they found her.[4] Though several thugs soon managed to locate Sei, they were dispatched by Noa. Watching from a balcony, Nathan was impressed and decided to "kick things up a notch" by firing his pistol into the air. This caused the civilians to panic, believing there were terrorists inside the mall.[5]
Despite the resulting commotion, Noa and Sei were able to make their way to the top floor, where the Abstergo reinforcements were set to arrive, only to find Nathan and his men waiting for them. After Noa rejected Nathan's offer to surrender himself in exchange for Sei's safety, Nathan laughed asked him how he planned to protect both himself and Sei from his gang.[5]

Agreeing with Nathan that Sei was just "dead weight" and would slow him down, Noa pushed her off the balcony and onto an inflatable castle below. Impressed by Noa's boldness, Nathan then decided to fight him one-on-one and ordered his men to stand down.[5] During their fight, Noa deduced that Nathan was an Assassin and learned that his father was also a member of the Brotherhood, who had been forced to abandon his family to protect them from the Templars.[6]
Ultimately, Nathan defeated Noa, but decided to respect his wishes to be left alone and gave him Captain Rupiya's sea log, which contained information useful to Noa's quest. He also reminded Noa that the Zhawang Corporation never abandoned its "family" and that if Noa ever needed their help, they would rescue him from Abstergo. With that, Nathan left alongside his men, moments before Sigma Team arrived and secured Noa.[6]
Following his escape from Abstergo, Nathan called Claire to inform her of his failed mission to retrieve Noa. Claire reprimanded him for his recklessness and for turning the entire operation into a "complete mess", but Nathan assured her that, when the time came, Noa would side with his "family" and deliver the Piece of Eden sought by Abstergo to the Corporation.[7]
Operation: Family Rescue[]
After the events in Cebu, Nathan decided to take a "vacation", going out at sea on a yacht. However, he and his men continued to monitor the Exitus and, using some of his old contacts from the DedSec hacker group, the Assassin called Shimazu Sei and made a deal with her to ensure Noa's safety after Abstergo ordered his termination.[8]

Following Noa and Yuki's retrieval of a crescent amulet – a Piece of Eden – from the shipwreck of the SS Ourang Medan, Nathan decided to commence his plan to retrieve both Noa and the Piece of Eden. Boarding a speedboat, the Assassin and his men, who were riding jetskis, attacked the diving bell ship that Noa, Yuki, and Sei were on.[9] While his thugs fought the ship's guards, including several Sigma Team operatives, Nathan helped Noa, Sei, and Yuki escape with the amulet and brought them to a Zhawang Corporation safehouse in Singapore.[10]
There, Noa was taken to receive medical attention due to his mind being corrupted by the amulet's powers, while Sei decided to track down another Piece of Eden that could cure Noa by reliving her ancestor Shimazu Saito's memories. Before Sei went into the Animus, Nathan briefly taunted her about the dangers of her plan,[10] and later called Claire to update her on the situation.[11]
Sei later began to suffer from the Bleeding Effect, requiring her to be removed from the Animus, whereupon Noa volunteered to take her place.[12] Eventually, Noa's genetic memories revealed the location of a Piece of Eden in the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar, just as the group's hideout was discovered by Abstergo, who dispatched Sigma Team to capture them.[13] While several Doom Eagle members stayed behind to confront the Abstergo agents, Nathan, Noa, Sei, and Yuki escaped Singapore by boarding a cargo ship, where more of Nathan's men awaited them.[14]

After sailing to Yangon, the group planned their infiltration of the Shwedagon Pagoda to retrieve its Piece of Eden. While Sei and Noa entered the temple through a secret tunnel, Nathan and his men staged a distraction by attacking the soldiers guarding the pagoda. Nathan also decided to call in a favor from the Assassin Brotherhood, requesting backup in case things went awry.[15]
Sure enough, during Doom Eagle's shootout with the soldiers, Sigma Team arrived and rappelled down onto their location.[16] With help from Yuki, who had her drone drop several explosives on the Abstergo agents, Nathan and his men were able to hold off Sigma Team long enough for Sei and Noa to escape the Shwedagon Pagoda with the artifact. They then drove to pick up Sei and Noa, before heading to a safehouse outside Yangon to lay low and hide from Abstergo.[17]
Later, Nathan, Noa, Sei, and Yuki returned to Yangon, seeking to steal a seaplane from a hangar near the city's harbor so they could flee Myanmar. During their infiltration of the harbor, Nathan went to free his men captured by Abstergo, who were being held hostage aboard their own ship. However, he was discovered, initiating a fight with Sigma Team.[18]
Yuki sacrificed herself to hold back the Templars and allow Nathan and his men to reach the hangar, where Noa and Sei were waiting.[19] However, they were surrounded by Sigma Team, forcing Sei to use the crescent amulet to temporarily subdue the agents. This allowed Noa and Nathan to escape with the second artifact and fly to an uncharted island. There, Noa decided to continue exploring Edward Kenway's memories, to find the third and final Piece of Eden, so he could use it to save Sei and stop Abstergo's plans.[20]
