Finding the sword in one of his father's chests, the young man took it with him to the Auditore execution. However, the sword was disarmed from him by a brute, and was left behind when Ezio fled the area. Later, Ezio was gifted a similar blade by his uncle Mario upon his arrival in Monteriggioni in 1476.
In 1500, when the army of Cesare Borgia attacked Monteriggioni, an older Ezio used a Common Sword again in the town's defense, due to the loss of the Sword of Altaïr in the wreckage of the Villa Auditore. Following this, Ezio continued to use the sword in conjunction with the Hidden Gun, for an unspecified length of time after his arrival in Rome.
