Weapons Wheel

It's so not fare i was working on this for 2 hours i cannot delete this page it shows the new update on Assassin's Creed III Weapons. unsigned comment by RED x4 (talk · contr)

I tried to fix as much grammatical mistakes as I could. I believe this could be a good page, it just needs a lot of work. It is relevant as it is available in all of the Assassin's Creed Games so far.

0hersey0 23:00, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

First Red, sign your posts. Secondly, I added the deletion template because the weapons wheel is only a HUD element and the article was poorly constructed initially (no offense) when you consider the Manual of Style. Finally, adding the tag would allow Sima or Vatsa to come see it, and if it is worth keeping, they can just take the tag off and leave it to be revamped. Slate Vesper 23:05, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Hersey, it's understandable that you worked hard, but I don't know whether it's necessary or not (Bcrats will decide that). But I think you should stop making edits on it for now, 'cause if they decide to delete it, your work will go waste. If they decide to keep it however, you are free to improve it (check the pages listed here for guidance). By the way it's quite poorly constructed. Ask one of the staff members if you want a bit of help. -- IlMualim Wanna Chat? 23:33, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Pretty sure the weapons wheel was already mentioned in one of the articles. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:43, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

It think it should be reworked into another article or under gameplay or something. We had the same issue with the assassination techniques and that's what was done (if I remember correctly). Anyways, I just think there is potential there and saving some of the work might be the best compromise. -- KaloneousHelpDesk 00:55, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

It's just a HUD element like Slate has mentioned. Last I remember Altaïr, Ezio or Desmond didn't have a virtual option to select and assign weapons.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 03:35, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Desmond did, through the Animus HUD. -- IlMualim Wanna Chat? 11:15, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Connors Dual Holsters

I made the page about making Connor's dual holsters. I think that my page is useful because I had to ask 3 friends, look at many different articles and research this online for a couple hours just to find the answer. Now, with my page I tell you instantly how to get each requirement and where to get them. I showed my friends and gotten positive feedback, so I think it would help a lot of other Assassin's Creed Fans. -- Infinite FTW (talk) 03:28, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

The effort you put into it is appreciated, but you simply put it in the wrong place. Vatsa has moved it for you to Forum:How to get Dual Holsters for Connor. Lucan07Haunt me...and Stuff 03:30, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

It might be used, if an article listing all of the recipes is created later on. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 03:37, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

The page Loyalists is a canidate for deletion because it says its a duplicate of the red coats page. I only meant for it to be a branch of the page not copy it

Marco

What makes Marco so article worthy? He is a character in the AC universe.Kryptonian25 (talk) 19:14, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

I know that. You don't just make a page and say "This guy is an Assassin." though. Where does he fit into the AC universe? Slate Vesper (talk) 19:18, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

Scandinavian Assassins

Im just trying to make posts about fictional Scandinavian Assassins wich I think is very much needed because there is none. 94.254.64.166 22:31, December 8, 2012 (UTC)DirtBlockPro

If you'd like to create a Fanon article, you can find out how on this page. I do have to warn you though, in the event that Scandinavian Assassins are included in the AC series and a main article page is made for them, complications might arise. Slate Vesper (talk) 22:34, December 8, 2012 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed 3 emails

Hi all, I understand there is already a page for emails but it contained no AC3 content at all. There are several subpages related to emails as well. At best I would like to recommend this page be merged into one of those rather than deleted. The beuks (talk) 04:30, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

This article is too broad, it needs to be specified further, as emails were sent to different recipients, and we also have the emails which were introduced in AC: Brotherhood... so we include Desmond's emails in his respective article and the rest with the others, as well as creating a new page for William's article.  Having this article, is just wasting time and effort when there are already articles for emails. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 04:33, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Can I get help with moving the content to its rightful place since I'm a bit of a noob? After that's done, I too see no reason this page should continue to exist. The beuks (talk) 04:45, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

On it. I'll start with William's so there's no edit conflicts. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 04:54, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch. I might mention it is possible they all belong in Desmond's emails only, as you technically are only reading them out of Desmond's inbox. The beuks (talk) 04:56, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

I have transplanted all the entries to the Desmond Miles' email article, thus this article can now be deleted at will. The beuks (talk) 06:28, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Forum regarding Edward

The topic is Edwards assassin journey.  Whoever the admin is says its a duplication again.  First off, i didn't even write the same thing.  Might be along the same lines but it's an important topic i think people will want to talk about.  Why can't we discuss edward becoming an assassin in both the general and wiki discussions? i want to hear everyones opinions. Please don't delte it...again.Eagle Blade71.204.121.55 17:37, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

You've already created one (Forum:Edward as an assassin), why bother creating another? Keep the opinions in a single page.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 17:43, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Underwater Gameplay

I added this underwater gameplay section because I felt that would be a big part in the gameplay of the game. It may not be written the best but I created the page just to let everyone know that it is a part of the game and anyone could add on to it or change it later.

Roboxo3001 (talk) 02:05, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

The problem is that the page is too broad, vague, and generally not needed. I can see your idea, but the article is not well written or formatted and the overall idea is too general. --NOSTALGIA TALK 02:07, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

Templar insignia

I did not created the page but i think it should stay, even though is very vague, isnt that how most articles start? We could just add a picture and more detailed information. Besides i noticed that we have a lot of articles on the Assassin Order category and much less in the Templar Order category, maybe we could try to change it? A (talk) 04:26, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

I only did that to bring up immediate attention, so it can be decided if it's even necessary. Crimson Knight Intercom 04:30, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think it's really nessecary...but it's not up to me xD--Fragment -Animus- 04:34, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Considering how much attention the Assassin Insignia gets, I'd think it fair for the Templar Insignia to get that, too... I'll take a look at it, in a moment... Sadelyrate (talk) 08:15, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Asssassin's Creed V

I added a source. Still, Assassin's Creed V is scheduled for deletion. PLEASE STOP IT.

ICAHQAgent47 (talk) 06:15, April 26, 2013 (UTC)

No. Adding a source is a requirement for any page, not a wonder elixer to make pages good. The title "Assassin's Creed V" has not been explicitly stated, and the external link directs you to a non-official Facebook page. The article will be created soon enough, but only when it has been explicitly mentioned and/or info has been released on it. ;) -- Master Sima Yi Talk 06:44, April 26, 2013 (UTC)

Edward Kenway freerunning

Christina Memories

Xdusseaux- (talk) 06:02, June 18, 2013 (UTC)Hi. I just worked 3 hours on my Christina Memories page. I can not have it deleted. I've gone through too much.

Tough. You should read the Manual of Style. Slate Vesper (talk) 06:13, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Swimming

I propose deleting this article. No offense to its creator, but I really do not think it is necessary or particularly useful. Swimming is a fairly basic action which does not, in my humble opinion, warrant a page. Otherwise, we would also need to make pages for walking, sitting, standing, climbing, falling, turning, talking. (Yes, I know I am taking it to an extreme here, but it is just to illustrate my point.) I am aware of the page we have for free-running, but that is an action that is inherent to the Assassin's Creed franchise - swimming is not. Nesty Contact me! 17:20, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

I agree with Nesty. The swimming page is totally pointless. The Dark Soul (talk) 17:22, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

First off, swimming was a major gameplay addition in ACII, the mechanics of which were expanded for in Liberation and about to be delved into further with the diving bell sequences in Black Flag. Furthermore, swimming is not a basic function, considering many people can't swim and a skill for the Assassins like freerunning or blending (your aforementioned "sitting" page).
Don't be rash: I'm sure there's plenty to improve the article as a swimming expert may come along and point out the different techniques in the series. Black Flag will also expand the mechanic in other ways, for example I've heard rumors NPCs will finally be able to swim.
If this article were deleted, I would either merge it to the training section of the Assassins page or rename freerunning to discuss Parkour in general, of which swimming can be part of sometimes it's the only way of getting from point A to point B. Oh, and because of Black Flag there'll probably a description of the Diving Bell missions similar to the Secret Locations. --Alientraveller (talk) 17:33, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

We have pages for Blending and Freerunning, and with AC4 being primarily on the sea, we could expand this article further as we go. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:02, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

Very well, point made. Nesty Contact me! 18:07, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

I've created at least 5 different conversation pieces to add to this, but they all just fall apart, because I lose my train of thought. I'd rather continue any conversation of the like nature on the IRC. A swimming article is pointless. The end. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 18:28, July 24, 2013 (UTC)

I have to agree with Stormbeast, unless we decided to create an article for walking, breathing or shooting a firearm next? We don't need an article for these acts. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 10:58, July 25, 2013 (UTC)
That's very pointless to make a page for all of those things. I support the deletion..

Ego sustinere deletionem. Say requiescat in pace to the 99% useless page. Alty Death Star 11:30, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

This isn't a vote. Most of you calling for deleting the page claim it is pointless, which is not constructive. Kain and I made good points and refuted the comparison that swimming is like walking or breathing, and a skill like freerunning (climbing/sprinting), blending (walking/sitting), eavesdropping, interrogation or hunting. --Alientraveller (talk) 11:38, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

So for an example of constructive debate, I've written up a real-world take on the mechanic in my sandbox. Contrastively, others may support deleting the page but can suggest moving the information to individual Assassins' page or merging swimming and freerunning into Parkour. --Alientraveller (talk) 12:05, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

Swimming is not parkour. However, I propose that Freerunning and Swimming may be merged underneath Navigation or Travel. That way, we can have both of them and additional pages in one big article, and we may not need a chain of categories to tie them together. Slate Vesper (talk) 22:31, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

Bloomsbury

I don't see any reason for us to have this article. The only time Bloomsbury is seen is in Forsaken, and this is already covered by our London article. I'm all for increasing our article count, but we're not Wikipedia; we don't need to into this much detail. The same could be said for a number of recent articles that have been created. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 09:29, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Colonial Templars

"We don't have pages for Italian Templars, Ottoman Templars and so on. Here's your valid reason." - Kain

Perhaps not, but we do have articles for Levantine, Italian, Ottoman and, most importantly, Colonial Assassins. If we're going to get rid of Colonial Templars, it stands to reason we should be deleting these articles as well. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 12:28, September 16, 2013 (UTC)

I vote for the keeping of the current article and development of Levantine, Italian, Ottoman and whatever else Templar pages. JD has presented a valid reason. Templars should also be in the wiki like different Assassin types. Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 18:31, September 16, 2013 (UTC)

So it begins... there used to be articles on the Italian, Byzantine and Chinese Templars once, but those were deleted. Sima told me on my talk page that the issue is that the Assassins have a clearly defined hierarchy, but the Templars do not. However, AC3 hinted the 18th century Templars are organized by regions much like the Freemasons, and I heard a report AC4 would expand how each the Templars were divided into British, French and Spanish groups. I'd recommend keeping this article given we know the Templars briefly had a "Colonial Rite". --Alientraveller (talk) 18:32, September 16, 2013 (UTC)

Unless we have all other types of Templar pages made, I think this is unnecessary... --Fragment -Animus- 23:39, September 16, 2013 (UTC)
I fail to see why. The Colonial Rite is the first Templar sub-faction to be distinguished as just that - a distinct and largely independent group in itself - much like the various Assassin Brotherhoods. Even if we didn't create articles for the "Ottoman Templars", or the "Italian Templars" does not mean we shouldn't have one for the Colonial Rite. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 00:01, September 17, 2013 (UTC)
Fragment, this is a wiki. It should contain articles for everything, well not minor ones. Just because we don't have the other Templars' articles doesn't mean that we have to delete the current one. Other articles should be created with what little info we have now, whether they have a defined heirarchy or not otherwise, what purpose does we serve as a wiki without some info that has been known long before? Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 07:39, September 17, 2013 (UTC)
A wiki should aim for as much as informativity as possible, in my opinion. However, the information it provides must be relevant and worthwhile. If the information within this article is stated somewhere else, then this article is essentially redundant. However, I agree with Alientraveller that we should wait for AC4, and if that does not provide us with any useful, "new" information about Templar branches, then this article is unnecessary, in my opinion. Similarly, if there's terribly little information on a subject, why make an article on it? :/
Crookandcharlatan (talk) 07:58, September 17, 2013 (UTC)
There are many other terribly little articles on the wiki. But we're not going to delete it. Why this then? Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 10:26, September 17, 2013 (UTC)

Well, it's been a week, and the result is looking pretty one-sided, so I'm going to go ahead and close it. Result: Keep. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 13:41, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

Torres

Torres and Julien du Casse are not canon characters. Gameplay trailers are not canon, we know this already. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 14:24, September 27, 2013 (UTC)

We also know that the trailers usually just mangle the story. Characters themselves have always appeared in the final game, be it in a different role or under a different banner. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 14:27, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, but all we then have to go on is a name, since everything else in the article is speculation, at best. We don't create articles just for a name. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 15:53, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
Nobody appears to agree with you here, so just leave it be. We only have to wait a measly month until the game comes out anyway. --Crimson Knight Intercom 15:54, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
Then just put up a non-canon template at the top, until we have a confirmed info. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:56, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
No, I won't just "leave it be"; and I would thank you kindly not to try and tell me what to do. Whether you agree with me does not change the fact that the articles are currently non-canon, and as per the terms of our Sourcing policy should be deleted. If we have to create another article under the same name in a month, so be it. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 17:36, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
I'm in agreement with Crimson Eagle and Kainzorus. There's no need to be so defensive. I think it's already been established that gameplay trailers can at least be considered reliable and canon sources when it comes to establishing the existence of characters. Perhaps not their role, or any other memories involving them, but that's another kettle of fish. Makao the Byzantine {T/\L|<} 09:09, September 28, 2013 (UTC)

Remember the fort demo with Torres? Well Ismail(can't remember the of the Dev.) said that, that mission is early in the game so and consider all shots of him in trailers compared to every other charecter that has had a diffrent rolle than shown in one demo(Silas). I would say his page is correct until proven otherwise.--ACsenior (talk) 09:23, September 28, 2013 (UTC)

Manifesto of the Instruments of the First Will

What makes this a candidate for deletion was questioning its Source. I'm not quite sure how to improve in that regard. It's in the game, it's found when you collect all 20 Sticky Notes and I don't think there's much more I can do to prove that. There's also the picture you unlock of the strange, flower-like symbol once you collect all 20, which should be on the page now. I'd like help with this, as I'm fairly new to this whole Wiki thing.

DarkAlphabetZoup (talk) 03:46, November 2, 2013 (UTC)

As long as the picture gets placed on the page where it already is, I'm fine with the page being deleted.

Moneymop (talk) 15:31, November 11, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe we could move it over to another page. Perhaps Abstergo Entertainment, or maybe John (Abstergo Employee), who likely wrote the Manifesto?

What makes Jenkins not a good character to have on the wiki? He was a named character with a large role in assassins creed 4.

Can you explain who Jenkins was? I'm all for creating new pages, as long as you can give a good reason. I just don't remember hearing the name in the game, and I've played it over a few times myself.

For clarification, how is this sourced incorrectly? I've seen many other images on this wiki similarly sourced, so if the mistake here can be clarified, it would be greatly appreciated.

Molotov.cockroach (talk) 10:06, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

It is sourced well enough. Jasca is just being a nitpicking ass about deletion reasons. The actual reason is that this image, and other ones you've put up, are of low res and low quality. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 10:12, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
There's a difference between following the site policies that we all adopted, and being a "nitpicking ass" as you put it. Low resolution is not against site policy, poorly sourced images are. "Ubisoft" is not a licence, it's a company. Perhaps you need to be a bit more nitpicky in your use of the {{Delete}} template. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 10:32, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
For reference on the licensing, I was looking at images such as [this one], which is on prominent display within a popular page on the wiki, and is licensed in this fashion. Thank you for the clarification; perhaps a sample of proper licensing/sourcing could be added to the image policy, so it's clear exactly what is expected?
@Kainzorus, thank you for the clarification as well. I am curious, though: is it better to have no images rather than low-res ones until better images replace them? I ask because the wiki is sparse on images of Mary in general, and the one picture on her page is low quality in itself. Molotov.cockroach (talk) 10:48, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
That image is only a placeholder until we have a proper render. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:09, November 19, 2013 (UTC)
This page provides instructions as to how an image should be sourced, and can be found quite clearly linked on the main policy article. With regards to the second image you have mentioned, that should still be sourced properly, regardless of whether it is a placeholder or not; that said, I do not know where it came from originally. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 12:12, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

I really don't think we need this article. if we removed all the text detailing the events on Dead Chest Island we would be left with simply 'The Virgin Islands and islands.'

I think it best we simply delete the article and change what few links there are to Wikipedia ones. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 14:22, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

Incorrect: you'd be left with "Three years later, he sailed to the Virgin Islands again to fulfill a contract to take out the privateers preying on merchant ships there, including the Sea Wolves, the Greyhound and the Orpheus, making the trade route safer." Desmond saga

I really need the desmond saga page to still exist, if it were to be deleted I  wouldnt know what was going on in the assasins creed series, i havent played all of the games, but there are still some questions that i have that are no where near answered. I still need this page, it shows me background history for all the characters, the basic summary of what is going on in each game, and what the DLC's are about, because i don't always have time to play or watch a DLC and I've learned that they are pretty significant to the series, they fill in the holes and the questions that are left unanswered by the main series. I would really appreciate it if whoever is reading this would share their thoughts on why or why not is should stay or leave and please spread the word about the pages deletion. Again, I love the assasins creed series, but I don't always have the time to play them so thats when i come to the page and really need it the most, it halps me figure any questions I have for myself so I would love it if the site stayed

thank you

The two threads have been deleted, but your original one hasn't. Personally, I don't know the answer you're looking for, so that's why I haven't posted at least. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:06, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much, I did not mean to spam, only to find an answer, I believed all of the posts to be marked for deletion initially, I am sorry for overlooking the original post's condition, Many thanks,142.167.182.177 02:40, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

Siren's Name

I found a video showing all the new characters and their bios. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B02-T5hB9oY But yeah, the Siren's name is Sylvia Seabrooke and the Stowaway's is Charlie Oliver. TemplarAgent (talk) 17:31, February 8, 2014 (UTC)
