In 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa chose to retrieve the Book of the Dead that bandits had stolen from an old man, Beka, in Yamu. Unfortunately, the man died of natural causes before Bayek could return the book. Instead, the Medjay laid it near Beka's body, awaiting mummification at the Temple of Sekhmet.
