Bolour was the younger sister of Roshan and older sister of Masha. She was married to Amon, a honey farmer from a village near Kandovan.
Biography[]
In 816, a Persian harbor master came to Kandovan looking for a wife, and Roshan offered herself up, seeking to save both Masha and Bolour from a grim fate, having realized what kind of men he was. In preparation for Roshan's departure, Masha and Bolour made her necklaces and bracelets, which she promised to treasure forever, though her husband managed to destroy all but one of them,[1] a bracelet with colored glass beads chosen from her sisters' favorite colors.[2] Bolour married Amon and the couple settled down in Kandovan, where he worked as a honey farmer and they had four children, although one did not survive. By 823, Bolour was expecting another child.[3]
In 823, she saw Roshan outside of their childhood home at night, and after a moment of shock warned her older sister that she could not be here, for people still looked for her after she had killed her husband. Roshan said she wasn't planning on staying, calming Bolour, and they talked about what had happened to the family since they last met, closing the conversation with Bolour attempting to lie about Masha being well. Roshan immediately saw through it, since Bolour had never been a good liar, pressing her sister until she admitted that Masha's new husband Bogd had forbade their sister from interacting with their family, enraging Roshan. The sisters parted ways, with Roshan saying she would find out how Masha was and Bolour warning her that Bogd was a dangerous man. A short time later, Roshan managed to secure Masha's release from the marriage by paying Bogd's debts through Dervis. Dervis later guided a frail Masha to meet with Bolour and Amon, with the two sisters having a tearful reunion while Roshan watched from afar. Amon then began to guide the women down the road when a street urchin handed them a pouch of garnets sent by Roshan to help take care of their family.[3]
