I'm a little disappointed that the E3 thread has just died out. I was really enjoying chatting with you guys about different games for once. I'm thinking that maybe you guys just don't like the idea of using an E3-dedicated thread after the event in question has ended?
Anyway, the basic premise of this thread is so we can talk about what games we are most excited or disappointed about after E3. Personally, I have a long list of games I plan on pre-ordering, so I have lots to talk about. I'm only going to focus on Ghost Recon Wildlands for this post, but I have a long list of games I am getting, which I will list now:
- Dishonored 2
- Dishonored definitive edition
- Deus ex Mankind Divided
- Hitman
- AC Syndicate
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- For Honor
- The Division
- Dark Souls 3
- Mad Max
- Batman Arkham Knight
- Star Wars Battlefront
These are all the games I am most excited for at the moment. That's not to say that I'm not interested in any other games, so feel free to mention any I haven't listed.
Now, about Wildlands. This was probably the most unexpected thing to come out of E3 for me. I had a slight hunch that they would announce a new one, but I never expected they would go so open-world. This is a really exciting thing for me, since that is my favourite genre of game.
However, I am very concerned with how solo-play will work. The idea of only playing the game in coop really concerns me. It's not that I am a loner who doesn't want to play with others, but I'm the type of person who only likes to play coop with my friends. And that's where the problem lies; I don't know if any of my friends will get (or if they'll get it on PS4 like me) & even if they do, I don't plan on only playing it when they are available. I like to get things done in my own time.
Ubisoft have mentioned that solo-play will have AI companions, but I don't like the idea of them just aimlessly following me about all the time. In coop they have stated that you can go off & do your own thing, so I'm hoping this is also reflected in singleplayer. Ideally we will be able to call in the rest of our squad & dismiss them whenever we want & we should also be able to switch between who we want to play as for gameplay variation. If they do end up just following you everywhere, it will just get in the way of exploration if you ask me.
I know that Abel was very interested in Wildlands when it was announced, so I hope I'm not wasting my time talking about this. If I am, just remember that I am interested in other games too, especially the ones up top.
