Around 431 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra met Auxesia and helped her gather ingredients for an elixir meant to reinvigorate Koragos. Afterwards, Auxesia enjoyed herself at the Lesche of the Knidians.
- Auxesia is also the name of a minor goddess of spring and fertility in Greek mythology.
- Her name is derived from the Greek word αυξησις (auxesis), which means 'growth, increase'.
