Augos (died c. 422 BCE), also known as the All-Seeing, was a member of the Order of the Storm operating in Achaia, Greece during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography
Like other members of the branch stationed in Achaia, Augos was instructed by the Magus of their branch, the Tempest, to keep a lookout for the Persian Darius and his son Natakas, who were wanted by the Order of the Ancients leader Amorges.[1]
Around 422 BCE, Augos wrote a letter to her fellow member Nestor the Formidable, who patrolled the Aegean Sea northwest of Achaia. In the letter, Augos instructed Nestor to look for her at the Shipwreck Cove after he was done 'having fun'.[2]
Unbeknowst to her, Nestor was killed by the ally of Darius, the Spartan misthios Kassandra. The misthios recovered Augos' letter from Nestor's corpse, exposing her whereabouts, and allowing Kassandra to kill Augos.[1]
Behind the name
The name of Augos, a character in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's DLC Legacy of the First Blade: Shadow Heritage, is derived from the Greek word αυγή (avgí), which means 'dawn, sunrise, morning light.' It is also related to Auge, a character in Greek mythology.
