Atahualpa (c. 1500 – 26 July 1533) was the last Sapa Inca of the Inca Empire before its conquest by Spain.
After being captured by Francisco Pizarro, he was eventually executed. The Assassin Gonzalo Pardo had attempted in vain to rescue him.
