Astarte the Swamp

Astarte the Swamp (died c. 420s BCE) was a mercenary who operated in Greece during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography[]

Astarte was said to have eyes as murky as deep, muddy waters and was known to make her enemies drown in their own blood. To do that, she would strike a blow to a victim's head and would watch as the blood drained into that person's mouth.^[1]

During the war, she crossed paths with the Spartan misthios Kassandra, and was slain.^[1]
