Assassin's Creed: The Temple of Anubis is a virtual reality experience created by Triotech for the location based Ubisoft Experience. It opened on 18 September 2018 in Orlando, and at later dates elsewhere. It will be available in Birmingham for a limited time in April.

The experience puts guests in the boots of Bayek who must fight his way out the Temple of Anubis.

Story[]

Set in Ancient Egypt as reimagined in Assassin's Creed Origins, players embody the hero, Bayek, as they explore a mysterious temple. Wield a virtual bow & arrow to fight poisonous snakes, dodge enemies' arrows, walk across shattered wooden planks, and ultimately experience the iconic leap of faith made famous in the games.[1]

Gameplay[]

The experience is played in a 120 sq. ft area,[2] the center of the maze contains a red transparent box in the middle in order for the Vive base stations to continue to track movement. The experience takes 10 minutes to complete. Players are able to shoot a bow and arrow at enemies and some minor combat is also present. At the end of the experience players are able to perform a leap of faith.[3] The area also has walls so that touch in-game can be experienced, heightening the immersion.[2]
