Plot synopsis[]
With Sigma Team aiming their guns at them and preparing to open fire, Shimazu Sei and Yuki run for cover while Noa Kim goes to deal with the Templars. Using his Phantom Blade and electric shock baton bracer, Noa swiftly dispatches the Sigma operatives, although the effort leaves him exhausted. Meanwhile, Sei and Yuki try to head to the hangar, only to be ambushed by a Sigma operative who kicks Yuki to the ground. Yuki pulls out a pistol and guns down the operative, but her injuries begin to take a toll on her and she struggles to carry on.
As another Sigma operative appears behind Sei and Yuki, Noa jumps down and subdues the Templar. The trio then arrive at the hangar and board the seaplane, preparing to make their escape. While waiting for Nathan Zhang to arrive, however, more Sigma operatives show up and begin approaching the hangar.
With little time to spare, Yuki decides to face the Templars alone and buy the group more time to escape. Noa and Sei both try to convince her to stay, but Yuki insists that her only wish is to keep Sei safe and that she will do anything to accomplish that goal. As she arms herself, Yuki tells Noa that protecting Sei is now his mission and instructs him to stay with the doctor and make sure no harm befalls her. She then takes her leave, assuring Noa and Sei that this will not be the last time they see her.
Elsewhere, Nathan and his men are being chased by Sigma Team, who are closing the distance due to Nathan having decided to take the Animus HR-8 from the ship, which is slowing him down. Suddenly, Yuki arrives and opens fire on the Sigma operatives, allowing Nathan and his men to flee to safety. The Templars try fighting back but are overwhelmed by Yuki's superior firepower, prompting the team to call in the Abyss Walkers to deal with the bodyguard.
The Abyss Walkers' speed and mobility allow them to close the distance and, after a short struggle, they impale Yuki with their katanas. With the bodyguard mortally wounded, Sigma Team prepare to advance towards the hangar, only for Yuki to reveal one last trick up her sleeve. With the last of her strength, Yuki detonates the grenades she carries, causing a massive explosion that kills both her and the Sigma operatives.
Having watched the scene unfold through a drone's camera, Sei is left devastated by Yuki's death and vents out her anger on Nathan, who has just arrived at the hangar. Nathan points out that Yuki sacrificed herself to allow them to get away and that, thanks to her, he managed to bring the Animus. He then suggests that they stop wasting time and escape so that Yuki's sacrifice will not be in vain. However, before they can board the seaplane, Sigma Team surrounds the hangar. After Noa remarks that they will be shot down as soon as they try to take off and that they have run out of time, Sei suddenly takes hold of the crescent amulet in Noa's possession.
