Aragon is an autonomous community in Spain, coextensive with the medieval Kingdom of Aragon. Located in northeastern Spain, the Aragonese autonomous community comprises three provinces (from north to south): Huesca, Zaragoza, and Teruel.[1]
In 1489, the Inquisitor and Templar Gustavo Ramírez fled from the Spanish Assassins to Aragon, where he hid inside Sádaba Castle with his bodyguard, Captain Ordóñez. He had acquired a piece of a Staff of Eden, which he sought to prevent from falling into the Brotherhood's hands. Cornered by the Assassins, Ramírez managed to evade them again after Ordóñez engaged them to buy his master enough time to flee.[2] Despite both Ramírez and Ordóñez's escape, the Assassins were able to discover the second Staff piece's whereabouts at the Monastery of St. Lucia.[3]
