Alexandre Loissac (died 1793) was a French man who lived in the eastern part of Le Louvre, Paris.
Biography[]
At the time of the French Revolution, Alexandre Loissac was in love with his friend, Arianne. Despite a threatening letter from another woman, Pauline, he was advised by his friend to set a rendezvous at noon at a garden of the Palais-Royal. On the day of his rendezvous, he bought flowers and went to meet Arianne with his bouquet.[1]
Death[]
While waiting for Arianne, Alexandre stood in front of a solar cannon at the Palais-Royal. Precisely at noon, he saw Arianne but was immediately shot and killed by the cannon. Many witnesses described seeing Loissac's body with a hole blasted through his chest and his face struck with shock and terror. Soon, the French Assassin Arno Dorian came and investigated the crime. After interviewing multiple witnesses and inspecting many locales, he discovered the murder was an accident, setup by Colonel Ludre de Frolois, who wanted to destroy his competitor Gaspard Monge's laboratory in order to win a military science competition.[1]
