Alastair Aitken (died 1296) was a rich tailor from Berwick, Scotland. He was also the rescuer of Ailéas and Fillian after the masscre of their clan.[1]
Biography[]
Though a usual collaborator of the Scottish Brotherhood of Assassins, Alastair never joined the group.[2] However, in 1288, he was responsible and took in a set of twins and Children of Fal Fillan and Ailéas after their family and community were slaughtered[3] by the Lann Fala, a group of Templars tasked with hunting down the Children of Fal and the Assassins.[4] For the next eight years, he raised and had the twins work for him at his shop.[3]
Death[]
In 1296, Alastair readied his shop and the twins to depart after the English came to sack the village.[3] However, the attack began and Alastair ordered the twins to warn a fellow guild member. Before long, the Lann Fala and its leader Cornavii came upon and attacked him for the twins' location. Remaining silent, Alastair was impaled by Cornavii's sword and murdered in front of the twins. With Fillan's gasp of horror, Cornavii heard and ordered his men to capture them while the twins ran.[5]
