Setting & story ideas
I just think of two complementary settings that could fill the narrative gap between Mirage/Valhalla and AC1. On one part the Norman Conquests, and on the other the public establishment of the Assassins and the Templars.
-The Norman Conquests regroup different events. The conquest of England by William the Conqueror, the Conquest of South Italy and also the First Crusade as many Normans from Sicily were crusaders and founded the Principality of Antioch. As William was a descendant of Rollo we met in Valhalla, maybe he had connections with the Brotherhood (There is a note mentioning Assassins actived in 11th century Normandy). As England was the place where Alfred the Great reformed the Order, maybe the Assassins used William Campaign to eradicate the Order. For the protagonist, a Norman knight would be perfect to follow the different campaigns. It would begin for personal gain but will be inducted into the Brotherhood and become an errand knight to bring justice, traveling in England, Sicily, and the Levant.
-The public establishment of the Brotherhood and the Order occurred between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century. The Middle East was their birthplace and the Crusades were the theaters of their war. It could be interesting to see how and why they became public. For the protagonist, I think a Persian Assassin and apprentice of Hassan I-Sabbah would be perfect. It would be the first "historical" Assassin of the Brotherhood, a master in disguise (the historical assassins used ruse to approach their targets). He would later travel to the Levant to establish new bureaus and cross the path of the first Templars.
I imagine five games could tell this story:
1) William Conqueror's Conquest (1060s): The protagonist follows William in England to conquer lands but meets the Brotherhood and joins them to fight the Templars. The cities would be London and Caen (Normandy) and a bit of English country. William doesn't conquer England only with the battle of Hastings. The English revolted many times and the Normans brutally repressed the population, ruining the lands in northern England (it could be this event that caused the protagonist to distance from William). The Templars could support the Danes and Harold Godwinson before infiltrating the Norman society.
2) Norman Conquest of South Italy (1070s): The Norman knight is now a fully-fledged Assassin and travels to Sicily to prevent the Templars from controlling it. South Italy had many factions at the time: small Muslim States in Sicily, Byzantine in Bari and Sardinia, Greek and Lombard duchies and Norman mercenaries. For the cities, Palermo, Bari and Naples would be perfect, and for exploration maybe the Sicily island and a ship to navigate the coasts of South Italy.
3)Seljuk-Assassin War (1080s-1092): In the 11th century, the Abbasid caliphate was controlled by the Seljuk Sultans who persecuted the followers of Shia Islam and among them the Nizarites, the historical Assassins. The story could be based on this. Hasan I-Sabbah was in conflict with the Vizir Nizam al-Mulk who was the first historical target of the Assassins in 1092. Hasan was Persian but traveled to Egypt for many years. Maybe he discovered the Hidden Ones' secrets before returning to Persia in 1081. Then we will follow the steps of his first apprentice and help him take back Alamut in 1088 (serving as the HQ during the game). For the cities, Isfahan was the capital of the Seljuk empire, maybe adding Nishapur and Ray for more variety.
4) First Crusade and aftermath (1095-1103): The Norman Assassin infiltrated the Crusader armies to avoid Templar involvement while the Persian Assassin was in the Levant to build new bureaus after their eradication by the Seljuks. The two Assassins will meet due to the Crusade and work together. For the cities:
-Constantinople as the Crusaders met the emperor (it would explain how the Brotherhood disappeared before Altaïr).
-Antioch because it was besieged by the Crusaders and became the capital of a Norman State.
-Alep because it was the first Levantine city where the historical Assassins established and they assassinated some of its rulers during the Crusade.
-Tripoli because it was independent from both the Seljuks and the Fatimids during the Crusade. Raymond de Saint-Gilles, future Duke of Tripoli and an ally of the historical Assassins, conquered Masyaf during the siege of Tripoli, maybe something to write here).
-Jerusalem of course which was under the Seljuks, then the Fatimids and the Crusaders.
5) Templar Order establishment (1118-1137): The Persian Assassin investigated the public establishment of the Templars, trying to stop them and their leader Hughes de Payens. It could be interesting to see how both factions influence each other to establish themselves publicly.
Three major cities:
-Damascus: After the Assassins fled Alep, they went to Damascus. In 1129, the ruler of the city ordered the eradication of the Assassins as they were accused of being allies of the Crusaders. The same year, the city was besieged by the Crusaders. King Baldwin even sent Hugh de Payns to Europe to find more troops leading to the Council of Troyes and the papal recognition of the Order.
-Tyre: During this period, the city was conquered by the Crusaders but also suffered an earthquake. It had also a connection with Alexander the Great and some citizens even still followed the cult of Melqart, the titular god of the city, in the 12th century. Maybe the city could have connections with the Isu.
-Jerusalem: The HQ of the Templar Order is where the Apple of Eden 2 stayed until AC1. Maybe a story to explore how the Assassin tried to erase information on the "Templar Treasure". Hughes de Payens also died in the city in 1137.
Do you think it could be good settings for games in AC universe?
Would you like an Assassin's Creed in the independence of Great Colombia and for Simon Bolivar, Francisco de Paula Santander among others to appear, would it be great to see the independence of South America in Assassin's Creed, what do you think?
What time period or historical event would you want to see a game set in? There are so many good ones that would be amazing to see in a new game.
A game featuring Edward Kenway’s daughter (I don’t remember her name at the moment). I mean we only saw her in the ending scenes of Black Flag and then never again seen. Did Edward train her as an Assassin? Did he marry her off? What happened? And I’m not even asking for a mainline game, a DLC type like Freedom Cry would be enough. I just think that she wasn’t expanded on enough.
What do you think?

If you could make a sequel to one AC game what would it be?
A game in the calmar union would be very cool you could visit denmark, sweden and finland!
Whats your opinion on this?
As we know the next two installments are in Japan and the Witch Hunt in Germany, do you think it is related to the Fragment trilogy? With the first book set in the Boshin War in Japan and the third in the Labourd witch hunt, maybe we can have something related to Scotland.
The question is the setting. I see two major probabilities.
1) The War of Independence with William Wallace and Robert de Bruce. (1296-1328)
In the book, Wallace is an Assassin who fought the English who invaded Scotland. The Templars used the invasion as a diversion for their operation.
We can see the last historic Templars which were protected by the bishop St Andrew after the arrestation of the order in 1307. Some legends said they aided Bruce during the battle of Bannockburn in 1314 before forming another secret society. As Scotland allied with France, maybe we could see Thomas de Carneillon hunting some Templars in the area.
2) Marian Civil War (1560-1588)
Ubisoft seemed to focus on the modern era with Shadows (late 16th century), Hexe (early 17th century), Nebula (Aztec empire, so 1520s). I think for reusing some animation, weapons, and technologies, Scotland during the Presbyterian Reform and the Marian Civil War could be perfect. It was the time before England and Scotland were under the same king. Elizabeth I of England was at war with her cousin Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, the English influencing the Reform to break the Catholic Church in Scotland. Many assassination plots occurred during Mary's reign and she was overthrown before being executed.
There are other settings like the English Civil War or the Jacobites' uprisings but for the first, it would focus more on England (we already had Valhalla, maybe waited before returning to Britain) and the second the events are too short for a complete game.

One of Assassin's Creed's lost opportunities
If I was chosen to direct a direction for an assassins creed game mine would be in the Mughal era because for one there are many synchronization points, for example, you could probably go to the Thaj Mahal or the Red Fort in Delhi, and a lot of cool weapons like the Katar which could be modified for a hidden blade or the Chakram which could be a replacement for throwing knives. Also, India is a diverse setting for Assassins Creed. You could explore the thar desert in Rajasthan or the beaches of Kerala for some dlc so I think the location itself would be cool. Now we probably are going to get that game with AC Nebula but it won't be at its full potential but that's just my thoughts.
