“The new game is set to star Basim, the master assassin who plays a prominent role in the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Rift will also reportedly not be a massive open-world RPG, with a deliberately smaller scope and greater emphasis on stealth than Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins.”
This one is finally focusing more on stealth again after having their RPG’s focus on combat more (though you could still do this. Valhalla had horrible stealth in my opinion). Basim is okay but I would have rather have a different character. He’ll do, though.
Now for Infinity:
“Assassin’s Creed Infinity is expected to be a live service game that looks to break away from the mold of normal AC games. As such, Infinity looks to be set over multiple periods of time, and players will be able to jump back and forth between them.”
In my opinion, Ubisoft has now screwed up the entire franchise. This is it. This is the downfall.
Why?
Live Service: Live-service games are a way for a company to continue the growth of a game for years after its initial release. Meaning that this is going to feel more like Destiny and Apex Legends.
Micro-Transactions: every episode they release has to be bought. Kind of like how destiny expansions have to be bought to extend the story.
Because of the way Infinity is designed, there is a highly big chance that Ubisoft won’t make any more individual Assassin Creed games.
This video probably explains it better than I, but I encourage you to read the comments on it. Like me, others see the downfall of this.
This is my opinion on these games. What do you think?
