I’m talking design, intelligence, and personality. For me it’s either Revelations or Syndicate.

Disagree with Ghost of Tsushima. GoT is like Breath of the Wild and Skyrim, they’re big, but you can find a lot of love in it and you aren’t pointlessly walking around.
LOTFB is just stupid, while FOA has some stuff to enjoy. I feel like they’re both too overpriced though. Persona 5 and the Yakuza 0 are both full games that cost less than both of them.
Evie annoyed me a lot because she’s just a smug know-it-all. I feel like I would’ve gotten along with Jacob a lot more than Evie.
Kassandra’s VA was really talented. If the animation matched the emotion she put into role, Kass would’ve been way more of a likable protagonist.
When I say open world, I mean open world, I’m talking about the overall landscape of the open world, and how it looks. Although it’s not gonna be a huge factor of how I rank some of these, the stuff to do in it might be considered at times.
13: Liberation
Liberation has the most bland, uninteresting open world out of all of the games. The swamp is kind of cool, and the open city is alright, but compared to the other ones Liberation just isn’t that good at all.
12: 1
Don’t get me wrong, AC1 is a great game, but is it’s open world THAT good? The overall setting of the world is interesting, but it’s just a repetitive city with nothing to be overly excited about, so it’s gonna have to sit at 12 here.
11: Rogue
Some might disagree with me here, but as big as it is, Rogue’s Open World is pretty repetitive and bland. The cities are good enough, but everything else is just the same things over and over again. I’d say a fun part of the Assassin’s Creed series is just parkouring around the world you’re in with no purpose besides just to enjoy the scenery around you. It’s not as fun to do that in Rogue when all you get is a copy&pasted location for a third of the places you can visit in the entire game.
10: 2
Look, I’m sorry that 2 is so low, but it suffers from the same problems as the rest. With that being said, 2’s open world is still fun to explore, and I enjoyed it quite a bit during my playthrough of the game. I personally believe that it’s open world isn’t that good with future releases just having more stuff to enjoy in it.
9: Revelations
I had a hard time ranking 9, 8, 7, and 6 because they’re all really good and on about the same level when it comes to their open worlds, but with that being said, Revelations came out on the bottom. Revelations has a great open world, and exploring it is great, but it’s not perfect. Because of how close 9th place, 8th place, 7th place, and 6th place are I brought the amount of stuff you can do in the world into play, and that’s where Revelations loses. There’s just not a lot of stuff to do once you finish the story.
I personally wasn’t really all that motivated to keep playing once the credits stopped rolling. The world seemed kind of empty. With all of this being said, Revelations had a great open world, so just because it’s 9th that doesn’t mean it was bad.
8: Odyssey
Odyssey’s open world is really good, and beautiful to look at, but it feels like it’s just too big. I personally believe that quality should be considered over quantity when it comes to AC’s open worlds, and although the open world of Greece is huge, there’s just not a whole lot to do in it. If you’re not in a copy&paste city, you’re in a copy&paste fort. And I’m not entirely mad at them for doing this, Odyssey is an ambitious game, but it’s just not that fun to explore a new location when it feels like you’ve already been in that location before. (Because you basically already have.)
7: Unity
Unity’s open world is pretty cool, it has a lot of interesting historical locations you can go to, and just jumping and running around it’s open world is fun. (When it doesn’t bug.) In my opinion it’s not the greatest thing ever, but you can surely find stuff to like in it, so there you have it, 7th place.
6: Brotherhood
Brotherhood’s open world is really great, there’s not a lot else to say there. It’s hard to not find something fun to explore in it. Sure, graphically it’s not that great, but Brotherhood still has a solid open world with solid scenery that you can find yourself liking.
5: Origins
Origins suffers the same problem as Odyssey, it’s too ambitious, and it’s open world is a tad bit too bland at times, but with that being said wow Origins had a cool open world. It was actually fun to just walk around and almost everywhere there’s something beautiful to find.
4: 3
3’s open world was great. The top 3 are obviously better but you can’t deny that the Homestead, Frontier, and the cities are all exciting places to explore. And 3 peaked when it comes with chases. Idk if I’m the only one who does this, but sometimes I’ll just make it so guards chase me, and run around the map trying to get away from them. 3’s the best with this, and it’s especially fun to do in the open world it has.
3: Syndicate
I wouldn’t normally find exploring a steampunk-age London with child labor all that fun, but Syndicate is an exception. Syndicate’s open world is just fun. I might be the biggest hypocrite in the world for having it here considering my past critiques on how repetitive the previous maps were, but I don’t care.
Syndicate has a great open world and I will stand by that. Whether it’s running people over with an omnibus and never getting penalized, breaking into random houses and burglarizing them, swinging around the city like Spider-Man, or crossing the Thames by jumping onto moving boats, I can always find something to enjoy in Syndicate’s open world.
2: Valhalla
I hope Final Fantasy XVI takes motivation from Valhalla’s open world in a way. Valhalla’s open world is enjoyable, where every city and location seems new and original, and for that reason, it’s gonna be ranked high on the list.
1: 4
I don’t think this ranking needs an explanation.
^^ You’re right about 4, not sure why I thought it was, but 1 has the Director’s Cut which basically is a remaster.
For me personally it’s 3. 3 had improved the most comparing the original to the remaster.

It was alright, the open world aspect was really fun, and the story was decent, but I wouldn’t necessarily say it was worth $25. There was plenty of actual games you can buy that are better than it for less than that, like Persona 5 or Yakuza 0.
The “AC will become a shooter with WW1/2” statement is just false.
There are plenty of Ally vs. Axis conflicts that didn’t involve shooting each other, and even with that Syndicate had WW1 parts in it, and that to me wasn’t a shooter game at all.
FoA’s story was 5/10 but the open world of Atlantis was kind of fun to explore.
With LotHB, the story was just insane, made no sense, and it felt like no effort was put into it. Also, UbiQ seemed to be very confident in their LGBTQ inclusion, and then proceeded to not add LGBTQ relationships in the DLC. (Although this doesn’t surprise me, with UbiQ’s history of homophobic slurs and blatant homophobia.) The flaws to this DLC are so deep. With $25 you can buy so many GAMES with quality that aren’t…this, such as Person 5, TitanFall 2, and Rayman.
AC can’t really be an anime, it’s just not that type of series. I don’t think it being gory is why it’s not an anime, because there are plenty of anime’s out there that are gorier and have heavier themes than AC will ever have (Shin Megami Tensei, The Future Diary or whatever tf it’s called, and even Attack on Titan.)
And I don’t think it should be a cartoon either, I feel like AC is meant to be 3D.
All of the mainline ones and Identity.
Well I think the flaw in that line of thinking is obvious.
Rogue had no side content, and had a short story.
Odyssey had side content, just not good content. (Using the opinions given.)
Black Flag had good side content.
Side content is expected for an entry to the game, which ranked Rogue low because I didn’t have any side content, and quality side content is expected for an entry to the game, which ranked Odyssey low because it didn’t have any quality side content.
I somewhat agree with the second point actually. Syndicate is praised for polishing Unity’s combat system when Rogue did the same thing for Black Flag and got criticized, although there’s probably more of a valid reason for why it isn’t liked.
Once again I don’t have anything against you for liking Odyssey and was on your side for some bits of the whole argument that went down in a recent post, but the criticism for the game is somewhat valid.
What are you talking about?
All opinions are subjective, and the survey was asking for opinions. And secondly, a lot of these aren’t really subjective, and are actually valid criticisms, you are just upset because a game that you like didn’t do well.
With that I’d say you could’ve 1, done the survey, or 2, (and you still can do this) look at a lot of the criticism people have for the games lower outside of just this post with an open mind.
Wdym
Well for 1, that’s what the survey results came out as idk what to tell you.
And for 2, you can’t just ignore the criticism for it.
They’re all really good, even the Frye Twins, but I have to go with Adé.
USA vs. Japan would be an interesting concept for a game, with the amount of naval battles fought during it I don’t think it could focus on the main aspects in AC.
