I think that he was a Hidden One because he was a Roman army deserter and led a rebellion.

In Mirage, we know that the Order infiltrated the caliphate but since when do you think? Did they support the Abbasid Revolution? Did they influence some caliphs?
I think the Order could influence the caliph Harun al-Rashid as he established the House of Wisdom and expanded the caliphate. During his rule, the Abbasid and the Carolingians tried to establish an alliance against the Byzantines but also the Umayyad of Spain. As Charlemagne was a Grand Maegester, it would be logical that the Order controlled two of the largest empires of Eurasia,
The only thing is about the religion. In Valhalla database, we learn that both Christianism and Islam decrease the influence of the Order. But in Lunden, we see that the Order hid in the Temple of Mithra, a god of the Zoroastrianism pantheon which was later worshipped by Romans. Zoroastrianism was the state religion of the Sassanian empire before the Rashidun caliphate invasion. Even if Islam was the new official religion, Zoroastrians were tolerated in some cases but were also persecuted. Maybe the Order in Mirage is part of a Zoroastrianism cult as the Sassanian capital, Ctesiphon, was near Baghdad. Maybe there is something hidden in the region.
Aight if there's a muslim or arabic templar, would they be still wearing the crosses?
I've been a fan of the series for years and I have to say that Assassin's Creed, despite the controversial titles, has given us certain unique points of view. One of my favourites is that of Shay P. Cormac and his change from a disillusioned assassin to a high-ranking templar. Assassin's Creed Rogue is one of the most underrated titles in my opinion but I would gladly explore the Templar perspective again in a future title.
I don't know about you guys, but I think that it would be interesting to see an assassin's creed game without parkour/free running. I would like to see how stealth the Assassin/Templar would be using their blending skills and tricks in order to disappear into crowds. I suppose it would be more discreet, hiding in plain sight rather than moving through the rooftops. I also think it would cause the player to use more of a strategic approach toward each target, making the journey more challenging and rewarding than it already is.
Even if we had a lot of lore information during the series, I found some periods between the main games are missing. I write what could happen between each main game, from Origins to Modern Times, so six parts.
Between Origins and Mirage: The first centuries of the Hidden Ones remained in the shadows and we don't have much information on that times. It is nearly a millennia but we had very few references to what happened for the Hidden Ones and the Ancients.
1) Roman Empire (1st BCE -5th CE): I think the more asked period that was never truly cover, only some intel. We know that the Hidden Ones expanded with the empire like the Ancients. The many crises, civil wars, and coups could be perfect settings for the Assassin-Templar War.
-The wars between Romans and Persian (Parthians and Sassanids). Maybe intels in Mirage will explore this period.
-On the philosophical field, the Hidden Ones could be influenced by the Epicureans as they promoted Freewill, while the Ancients have similarities with stoicism (gods deciding the Order of the World). Among famous stoicism were Nero's mentor Seneca and the emperor Marcus Aurelius. As the two philosophies criticized each other, it could be a good cover for the Assassin-Templar war.
- As we don't know where was Alexander's staff of Eden after Origins, maybe the emperors from Augustus until the crisis of the 3rd century passed the staff. After the loss of the artifact, generals tried to take power during this period.
-As the Ancients emulated Isu-polytheists, the persecutions of Abrahamic religions could be their deeds, such as the destruction of the Salomon Temple (for exploring the Jerusalem Isu vault), or the Diocletian persecutions. Constantin could be an enemy of the Order as he authorized Christianism in 313, as Theodosius forbade the pagan cults in 390. The pagans stayed in the empire for at least until the 6th century, so the Order would have its influence diminished in the Empire.
2) Germanic kingdoms (5th-9th century): As the Empire began to crumble, we know that the Brotherhood retreated from the marge of the empire. No other information on this period. Some Hidden Ones stayed in Gaul, so maybe other branches made contact with Germanic tribes and fought the Hunnic empire as Attila had a sword of Eden. The Roman General Aetius (Aetius=Aetos=Eagle/ Italian variation Ezio) could be a Hidden One leading a coalition of Romans and Germans to fight the Huns in 451. But it seems that the Hidden Ones kept a low profile in the region as in West Francia during the 9th century.
3) Byzantine Empire (5th-9th century): While in Western Europe the empire fell, in the East Constantinople stayed the heart of Roman civilization. As Emperor Justinian wanted to stop paganism's influence on society, in 529 the Neoplatonician School of Athens was closed as the Temple of Isis in Philae. The Ancients will have a low profile, maybe using Belisarius' campaign in North Africa and Italy to gain influence while the Hidden Ones established their first guild since the fall of the Western empire.
4) Islamic caliphates (7th-9th century): We don't know the relation between the Hidden Ones and the Caliphate, only that the first Abbasid caliph was a target of the brotherhood. The Islamic caliphates covered a large area from Spain to Afghanistan. Like in Christian Europe, the Ancients faded due to Islam. As Zoroastrianism was the Persian religion, we can imagine that the Ancients tried to maintain it. During the caliphate, Zoroastrians were persecuted and excluded from politics. Some caliphs tolerated it, such as al-Mu'tasim who chose Samarra as his capital. Maybe he was influenced by the Order to let them control Baghdad. I expect Mirage will cover these times.
5) Eastern Asia (1st BCE-9th CE): Excepted information about Tang China (through Dynasty and the future ten parts book series), the Hidden Ones' presence in Asia remained a mystery. During antiquity, India was at a crossroads between the Middle East and China. Many kingdoms and empires influenced the neighboring regions, like Malaysia and Indonesia. As Hinduism and Buddhism developed in the region, the Ancients could have a stronghold there as monotheism didn't arrive before the 9th century.
6) Hidden Ones' expansion in Africa (1st BCE-9th CE): We know that they expanded with the Roman Empire and were in India in the 1st century but no info on Africa. As the Brotherhood began in Egypt, the Hidden Ones could travel the Nile to go to the kingdoms of Koush and Aksum and maybe later to the Great Lakes regions. The Somalian coast could be a good spot for a guild as many merchants from Mediterranea and Asia came there. During the centuries before the common era, many trade roads connected Libya to the Niger River and West Africa. Roman maintained these roads. In the 8th century, Arabs merchants established new trans-Saharan trade roads with the Kingdom of Ghana (modern Mali). The Hidden One could establish some guilds there to fight the slavers in the region.
Lately I've started playing a bunch of assassin's creed games and I remembered the nostalgia of the games' world. The battle of the Assassins with the Templars is one of my favourite aspects with many interesting characters on both sides. One of the things that interested me for a long time was the peculiarity of weapons, the most notable being, the hidden blade. As such, I'd like to ask which version of the hidden blade is your favourite.
This comic anthology is about the origins of the Templar order:

Here are some things that I want to see in the last games:
The opening scene would be a resume of all the series from the Isu age to today and explaining the Assassin-Templar war.
A Second Great Catastrophe.
World War III, but this time Assassins, Templars, and Isu.
An Homage to the Desmond games.
An homage to the Layla games.
Where the Isu came from?
A soundtrack with hip-hop, rap, and k-pop songs might involve Nerd Out because they sang theme songs from the series.
The Fall of Abstergo.
The Rise of the Assassins.
i wonder why altair and ezio don't have a title for a saga together? Finally, they share a history with Desmond, who, however, has also made a name for himself beyond those 4 games. the history of altair and ezio are so fused that it is difficult to separate them and altair's past has a strong presence in ac ii, brotherhood and revelations. the two characters undoubtedly have by far the greatest influence on the story, but they don't have a major presence in the later soiels, since their story ended with revelations and from then on other assassins are part of their story. however, desmond and later also layla are heard again and again in the present, whereby in my opinion the focus of all ac parts lies in the past epochs and perhaps, as in narvel, leads to an all-important final fight between assassins and templars. does anyone have a suitable idea for a title for your story? The heritage saga as in the one game collection available would not be entirely appropriate as it also includes ac III as well. an alternative and, in my opinion, more suitable name for the kenway saga would be the american saga, since the main focus is not always on the kenway family in all games (e.g. liberation, freedom cry and sometimes also rogue. i don’t find the layla saga either Appropriate name, since in my opinion, Layla plays a central role, but still does not have a really strong influence on the entire story. A more suitable name would be the ancient saga or the origin saga. and how does mirage fit into the whole story? What is your opinion on this?
What if a game had your favorite actors? This is my idea for a concept involving an actor:
Assassin's Creed: Saturnalia
Plot:
Set in 391 AD, back again in Alexandria and Rome during the late-Roman Empire, a Romano-Egyptian noble named Antoninus is working as a volunteer in the Library of Alexandria, where he meets Hypatia and Orestes, as he witnesses the fall of Polytheism and the rise of Christianity, the Order of Ancients sees everything from the shadows and they have entered to the religious battle.
Then, Antoninus finds a Hidden Blade the same that belonged to Kawab the Assassin of King Herod, he is trained by the son of Emperor Julian, Publius, and by Hypatia herself, but suddenly he finds out that Emperor Theodosius is an ally of Order of Ancients.
On the same date as Saturnalia, Antoninus travels to the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum but there he uncovers an Isu vault, where he discovers via an Isu time archive, the glory of what Ancient Rome used to be and the foundation of the Hidden Ones by Bayek and Aya in Egypt, suddenly he sees the second Great Catastrophe that will destroy Earth.
When Antoninus is back in Alexandria, he sees how his friend Hypatia is murdered, very sad Antoninus takes the bodies of Hypatia, Orestes, and Theon alongside the other texts that he could rescue from the Library, he ended in Jiankang, where he helped the Chinese Hidden Ones and he ended to bury himself alongside Hypatia.
Actors:
Fady Elsayed as Antoninus.
Gonzalo Martín as young Antoninus.
Stephanie Leonidas as Hypatia (350-415 AD)
Nadia Parkes as young Hypatia.
Malachi Kirby as Orestes (410s AD)
Wilson Mbomio as young Orestes.
Gerard Kyd as Theon (335-405 AD)
Russell Crowe as Publius.
Jason Isaacs as Emperor Theodosius (379-395 AD).
Marwan Kenzari as Cyril (376-444 AD).
Jessica Henwick as The Gladiatrix.
Music:
The music would be composed by Richard Beddow, who composed the music of Total War: Rome II, and songs by (G)I-DLE, Thutmose, or Nerd Out.

In Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, we can explore the Roman fortification of Hadrian's Wall and other Roman ruins we can see and explore across England, so we can see a little bit of the role of Roman Britain in the Assassin's Creed lore, so here is my theory about the role of the Order of Ancients in Roman Britain:
During the Roman Conquest of England during the years 43 to 84 AD, the Order of Ancients took a role during Conquest and some of the Roman Generals were members of the Order of Ancients for example Gaius Suetonius Paulinus was a member of the Order of Ancients.
Gaius Suetonius Paulinus wanted to end with the Hidden Ones because they had allied with the Celtic Britons, so when Paulinus defeated Boudica in 61 AD, he thought that he had ended with the Hidden Ones but he was wrong.
Also, the Order of Ancients could be involved in the Romanization of Britannia because the Roman politicians and generals believed in the forced Romanization of all the Non-Romans in the Roman Empire.
Perhaps, the Order of Ancients also proposed the building of the Roman fortification of Hadrian's wall because the Celts became allies of the Hidden Ones and another reason why the Legio IX Hispania disappeared was that all the Legionaries were killed by the Hidden Ones.
After the end of the Roman rule on Roman Britain to the Saxon invasion of England, the Order of Ancients began to have an importance during the Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy.
So here is a video about something that the Order of Ancients was probably involved:
What do you think? Do you think that the Order of Ancients had a strong influence on Roman Britannia? Let me know in the comments below.
In Assassin's Creed: Origins, we discovered that the Templars were once called the Order of Ancients, but how they came to be, this is my theory on how the Order of Ancients came to be, warning spoilers:
According to the lore, the Order of Ancients was founded by the Pharoah Smenkhkare during the 14th century BC, but actually, how did they begin?
One of the names of the Order of Ancients is the Snake, which indicates to us that it probably started as a Cult to the Serpent-God Apep, the God Seth, or the Goddess Nephthys, and it could probably start in the Egyptian cities of Ombos or Diospolis Parva, which were cult centers to Seth and Nephthys.
It probably started during the Fourteenth Dynasty, their founder was probably a Priest of Seth that probably was severely infected by Isu relics and he wanted to bring back Humanity to the Isu era, so this is the reason why Order has a strict supremacist view of the Pieces of Eden.
They hide in the Shadows until the Eighteenth Dynasty when they wanted to help Pharaoh Smenkhkare, so he renamed the Cult into the Order of Ancients.
So, this is how the Order of Ancients came to be.
What do you think? Do you think that the Order began this way? Let me know in the comments below.
