AC3 is personally my favorite installment in the franchise, but I know that's not the case for many fans.
But wow, the stealth is way more worse than I remember. Coming straight in from finishing the Ezio Trilogy it feels like a pretty big drop.
Entering the same postcode as a group of enemies when at any level of notoriety seems to alert them. Taking out a single guy on a roof with a bow seems to tell all the enemies in that postcode where I am. Air assassinating 2 guys behing a fence when no one is looking sets off some kind of alarm I can't hear but the enemies can.
And even though I LOVE this title, i know how frustrating the stealth system is. Like: What's the deal with the bow alerting guards like a gun would, or a assassination in the corner alert the whole fort? Make it like the crossbow from brotherhood - a ranged stealth weapon. And a corner assassination should not alert the guards in the surroundings.
Besides the forts and some soldiers camping in the frontier and many main and side missions, the game doesn’t give much incentive to go for the stealth approach.
I wish it had more stealth opportunities with the bow and Rope dart like showed in the Boston gameplay demo.
Honestly, i got the one the great feats of this game is the combat system, since it was a demonstration of a new engine, they should have been careful to improve both both combat and stealth system.
Then there's the question: What are all the things you'd change about AC3 stealth system to make it better ?
